Island of Krk is located in Croatia and is the biggest island of the Adriatic Sea. You can find there a thousand years old towns, small rural villages, equipped city beaches, secret swimming bays, lively streets and small cosy restaurants. Here are 10 reasons from our Mashbox team why Island of Krk is worth a visit! 🙂

1) One of Europe’s sunniest spots

Visitors should expect 12 hours of sunshine a day in May and June, on average, and 13 in July and August. Constant Vitamin D supply 🙂

8) Kosljun island nearby

This small island is approximately 300 meters in diameter and the only inhabitants are a group of Franciscan monks living in St. Mary’s Monastery. Kosljun has a library with over 30,000 books, some of them as old as the monastery itself.  You can find there as well The Church of Mary’s Annunciation, The Church of St. Bernardino and 4 museums. You can take a taxi boat in Punat and reach the island within 10 min.

There are three aquariums on the island to get familiar with the underwater world, two in Krk town and one in Baška. Fans of exotic animals will also love the Terrarium in Krk. 🙂
