1) Icehotel (Jukkasjärvi, Sweden)

Yngve Bergqvist created this art hotel in 1989. Every spring the ice melts,therefore the rooms design is diverse from year to year. Visitors provided with thermal underwear, hats and sleeping bags and after a night on reindeer skins, friendly hotel staff bring breakfast with hot lingonberry juice for the guests. The hotel accommodates 9 deluxe suites with private sauna and bathroom in each suite, 11 art suites, and ice bar and an ice gallery; all hard carved by carefully selected artists from around the world.

2) Crazy House Hotel (Dalat, Vietnam)

Guesthouse Hang Nga, or  “Crazy House”, resembles an enormous whimsical tree. It is a mixture of fantasy in the style of Gaudi and Dali, “Alice in Wonderland” and Russian folk tales. At night, guests sleep in the rooms and in the afternoon you can see there curious tourists climbing around. Are you ready for a crazy night?

7) Montaña Mágica Lodge (Los Ríos Region, Chile)

Unusual eco-lodge is built of natural stone and wood by craftsmen from neighbouring villages Neltume and Puerto Phew. Because of the waterfall, the walls of the “mountain” are abundantly overgrown with moss, grass and bushes. All this makes the hotel look like a fairy-tale house. Tubakuba is a cabin placed in the forest just outside the city of Bergen and it is available for single night stays. Though comparatively small in terms of square-footage, the space get the best out of lofted areas, kept cosy with a wood stove, and boasts a full wall of windows facing the Bergen panorama.
